This year to support Children in Need, children will be given a raffle ticket for every 50p brought in. All raffle tickets will be collected and one child will then get the chance to win a Pudsey Bear teddy! The draw will take place on Monday 22nd November, when Year 2 return.
Children can wear their own clothes too (if they have something spotty, that would be great!)
Thank you very much for the wonderful assortment of food items that the children brought into school. We created quite a display for our assembly! All the food was donated to The Food Bank, and they have sent us a thank you letter in appreciation of our support of their charity. We would like to pass this thanks onto you for supplying the items.
We are holding open sessions for new applicants at Downs Barn School on Monday 4th October and Southwood School on Wednesday 6th October at 10am and 6pm.
Please look at the page in our Parents and Carers section about the proposed federation of Downs Barn, Southwood and Germander Park Schools. All information is available to view under the Parent and Carer Information tab.
Last Friday, Reception had a fantastic trip to Rookery Farm, near Stoke Bruerne. They enjoyed seeing lots of different farm animals and also had time to play in the play park and huge sandpit! The weather was predicted to be very wet, but the sun shone on our Reception Class!
Year 1 recently enjoyed a trip to Whipsnade Zoo, where they saw all sorts of animals. They particularly enjoyed looking at the giraffes and the Rhinoceroses!
Please remember that it is half term next week (Monday 31st May to Friday 4th June). We return to school on Monday 7th June. We hope you have a lovely break.
We would like to say welcome back to all of our children as we look forward to the Summer Term.
On Friday 19th March 2021, children may come to school wearing something red (including a red nose if you have one), or their home clothes for a donation of
